Army reestablishes control over al-Wahhabieh village in Homs eastern countryside

Syrian Arab Army units achieved a significant advancement in their military operations against the ISIS terrorists in the eastern countryside of Homs central province.

A military source told SANA that army units continued to advance after carrying out intensive operations against fortifications and dens of the ISIS terrorists in the eastern countryside of the province, establishing control over al-Wahhabieh village, 5 km to the west of Manoukh village.

The source added that heavy losses were inflicted upon the ISIS terrorists in the personnel and equipment, in addition to destroying their fortifications and an amount of their arms and ammunition.

Deir Ezzor

Many ISIS terrorists were killed during the Syrian Arab Army units’ operations, backed by the air force, against their gatherings and movements in Deir Ezzor.

SANA reporter said that the air force launched intensive strikes on the movements, positions and fortifications of ISIS terrorists in the surroundings of the al-Maqaber “cemeteries” area, al-Panorama, Hweijet Sakr, the neighborhoods of al-Hweiqeh and al-Rishdiyeh and Ayash village, destroying some of those sites and killing or injuring many of the terrorists.

The reporter noted that the army units clashed with ISIS terrorists on the western and southern axes, al-Maqaber and the surroundings of the airport, leaving many of them dead.

Local sources said that a group of locals killed two ISIS terrorists after destroying their cars in Sheikh Yaseen neighborhood in Deir Ezzor city, while two others of foreign nationalities were injured in clashes with the locals of al-Jalaa village in al-Bukamal in the eastern countryside.

The sources pointed out to the state of chaos within the ranks of ISIS terrorists and the recurrent eruption of clashes among their groups, the last of which was during a meeting held in al-Bukamal and broke out among the so-called “members of the committee authorized to administer the organization in Syria”. The infighting happened against the drop of attempting to curb Iraqi terrorists and isolating them from several leadership positions in the organization.

The sources also noted that new ISIS terrorist groups fled from their spread areas in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, including the terrorists Ali Abdul al-Hamid al-Bahr, Muhannad Abdul al-Rahman al-Omar, Abdel al- Fattah Ibrahim al-Fandi, Emad Abdul Razzaq al-Ali al-Bahr and Mohammed Abdul al-Rahman al-Bahr.

Hundreds of ISIL Terrorists Surrender to Army at Syrian-Iraqi Borders

TEHRAN (FNA)- Hundreds of ISIL members surrendered to the Syrian army after government troops advanced in several areas towards Deir Ezzur and the Syrian and Russian fighter jets launched airstrikes on the terrorists’ positions in the province.

The Arabic-language al-Hadath news website quoted the Syrian media activists as saying that over 500 ISIL terrorists have surrendered themselves to the Syrian army forces at Syria-Iraq border.

They added that most of the ISIL members were Tajik, Uzbek, Saudi and Jordanian nationals who surrendered after the army surrounded them.

In a relevant development on Sunday, a number of ISIL terrorists surrendered to the Lebanese Hezbollah in Western Qalamoun region and called for relocation to Syria’s Deir Ezzur in return for giving information about the fate of captured soldiers of the Lebanese army in 2014, military sources said.

The sources close to the Syrian Army and Hezbollah reported that ISIL surrendered to the Hezbollah fighters after the army soldiers and Hezbollah fighters approached Halimeh Qareh height.

The sources said that based on an agreement the surrendered-members of ISIL are to be relocated to Deir Ezzur after the terrorists cleared the fate of the Lebanese captives that have been in ISIL’s jail for several years.

The sources confirmed that implementation of the agreement has started and Hezbollah has taken control over Wadi Mira passageway which was under ISIL’s control.

Eight Lebanese soldiers were kidnapped in clashes in Arsal in Eastern Lebanon in 2014. There was no information about their fate for several years.

Syrian Army Expands Buffer Zone in Damascus Province

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian army forces regained control of another strategic region during military operations against the al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board) in Western Damascus.

The Syrian soldiers retook control of the strategic hill of War’at Qila al-Roum between the two villages of al-Maqrouseh and Harfa after heavy clashes with al-Nusra terrorists in Western Damascus on Thursday.

A field source said that the army troops have inflicted heavy casualties on the terrorists during the operation, adding that the army has won back the military control of terrorists’ supply route between the two towns of Beit Jen and Moqar al-Mayer (the al-Nusra command center in the region) after driving out the militants from the strategic hill.

In a relevant development on Wednesday, the Syrian army troops hit the defense lines of the Al-Nusra Front in Eastern Ghouta, imposing control over more bunkers and tunnels of the terrorists.

The army men engaged in fierce clashes with Al-Nusra in Ein Terma region and seized control over several large bunkers and long network of tunnels in the depth of terrorist-held territories.

Also, the army soldiers, backed up by artillery and missile units’ heavy fire, captured several buildings overlooking terrorists’ positons.

The army units inflicted major casualties on the Al-Nusra in the assault.

Syrian Army Advances in Areas Near Last ISIL Base in Eastern Hama

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian army troops advanced to regions 2km away from a surrounded ISIL base in Eastern Hama.

A military field source said that the army forces have regained control of the village of al-Moshirfeh in Eastern Hama near Aqayrabat.

He added that since the battle in Aqayrabat is highly important to the ISIL, the terrorist group has well prepared for the battle and has dug a large number of ditches and planted mines in the region. The ISIL has also stockpiled a large number of weapons, tanks, sniper guns and missiles.

The source said that the Syrian army troops have now reached areas 2km away from Aqayrabat, adding that the anti-ISIL operations will further accelerate after the special ‘ISIL Hunters’ forces join the army.

A military source confirmed on Saturday that the Syrian Army troops have completed the siege on the terrorists in the Central part of the war-hit country.

The source reported that ISIL-held regions covering almost 3,000sq/km of area in Homs and Hama province are now under a full siege imposed by the army forces.

The source further added that the army men managed to advance against ISIL South of the town of Ithriya Northeast of Hama and reached their comrades that stormed ISIL’s defense line from their positions North of al-Sha’er region in Eastern Homs and advanced towards Jabal al-Fasedah region in Eastern Hama.

The source went on to say that the army soldier have gained control over all the roads in the Eastern direction of the town of al-Salamiyah in Hama province, adding that ISIL withdrew a large number of its forces before the army gained control over the roads.

The source further said that most of the remaining pockets of ISIL terrorists in Aqayrabat region in Hama province are suicide attackers that are in their positions to carry out suicide raids on the government forces to delay the fall of the town of Aqayrabat to the army.

The ISIL terrorists are trapped in the circle of the army forces in Aqayrabat, one of their main strategic bastions in Hama, after they lost the town of al-Sukhnah in Eastern Homs to the army men.

Army Tightens Noose on ISIL in Central Syria

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian army, supported by the air force, continued the battle against ISIL in Central Syria, and drove the terrorists out of more regions.

The army troops continued advances from Huwaisis in Eastern Homs, regaining control of the villages of al-Moshrefeh, al-Hafiyeh and al-Za’routiyeh.

Also, the Syrian army’s air force and artillery units heavily pounded the ISIL positions in areas surrounding the Aqayrabat region in Hama, leaving a large number of terrorists dead and wounded.

The Syrian army troops had on Saturday completed the siege on the terrorists in the Central part of the war-hit country, a military source confirmed.

The source reported that ISIL-held regions covering almost 3,000sq/km of area in Homs and Hama province are now under a full siege imposed by the army forces.

Terrorists Killed in Russian-Syrian Operations in Central Syria

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Russian and Syrian air forces intensified military operations against the ISIL in Hama, Raqqa and Deir Ezzur provinces, inflicting heavy casualties on the terrorists and destroying several of their positions.

The Russian and Syrian fighter jets launched airstrikes on ISIL positions and moves in Akash, Um Mil, Abu Jabilat and Northern and Southern Qastal and the town of Aqayrabat in Eastern Hama on Thursday.

They also heavily pounded the town of Ma’adan and its Southern outskirts in Southeastern Raqqa and the regions near Deir Ezzur airbase as well as the towns of Tal al-Qariya, al-Makabat, Panorama and al-Tharda in Deir Ezzur.

Dozens of terrorists were killed in the attacks and several of their bases and positions were smashed.
